How can schools, and other organizations that work with youth, best foster a sense of safety without criminalizing the experiences of Latino and Black youth? We will discuss how current efforts to create safety in spaces designated for youth, can easily fall into criminalizing youth rather than generative opportunities for learning and interacting with others. Learn how to help youth define what community means to them and that will help them discuss ways to address prevalent issues.
